The Crime of the Century.

On Monday, the much-anticipated Durham report was released to the public. While it came with no indictments or criminal referrals (shocker), it was exactly what most people thought it would be, really bad.

What is the Durham Report?

The Durham Report is the report that concluded the findings of a multiyear investigation into Russiagate, also known as Russia Russia Russia. John Durham (the lead investigator) spent roughly 3-4 years investigating the story of Russiagate.

What is Russiagate?

Russiagate was the story alleging that Trump was a Russian asset colluding with the Russian government to steal an election from the American people. The allegation was first reported by a few news organizations and the Clinton Campaign in October of 2016. It’s a complicated story with a lot of information, people, and moving parts. However, the story can be summarized into 3 simple points:

• One of Trump’s foreign policy advisers, George Papadopoulos (with Trump’s approval), tried to arrange a meeting between Trump and Putin.

• Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, provided polling information and other campaign details to a Russian spy.

• Russia tried to hack Hillary’s email after Trump called Moscow to find her deleted emails.

These allegations were all being released and reported by the MSM leading up to the 2016 election and for the year after. It was wall to wall coverage on CNN and MSNBC every night. Different experts were saying Trump was a Russian asset and that he should be impeached or imprisoned. An FBI special council investigation was opened. Millions of dollars of man hours and resources were diverted from other FBI investigations to get to the bottom of these allegations. Allegations that democrats continue to use against Trump and his supporters.

What did the Durham Report Conclude?

The Durham report concluded that Hillary Clinton approved a plan to create a false narrative about Trump & Russia. CIA Director Brennan, President Obama, VP Biden and FBI Director Comey were all briefed on this plot during the summer of 2016.

The report also verified different malpractices the FBI took to verify, create, and act on evidence that was completely made up.

To sum it up, The Durham Report shows, in essence, collusion between the Clinton campaign, FBI, and the Obama administration to weaponize government power against Trump. This is about 100 times worse than Watergate.

Conclusion.

Overall, these acts have consequences. It is a crime to knowingly provide falsified information to the US government and it is a crime to interfere in an election. However, these crimes will go unpunished. No one will be held accountable, and nothing will come of this report besides some political damage. That is the sad reality of the current American justice system.
