The Donald Trump Indictment

On Thursday of last week, former President Donald Trump was indicted by a New York grand jury over a campaign finance violation where he allegedly used a “campaign donation” as hush money to pay for a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Ms. Stephanie Clifford (Stormy Daniels). Allen Bragg (the Manhattan District Attorney) is claiming Trump donated campaign funds, to Michael Cohen (his former lawyer), as hush money for the Stormy Daniels NDA to “further his campaign”.

To be clear, it is legal for Donald Trump to pay for an NDA with his own money, but Bragg is alleging he “donated” campaign funds to do so. If this is the case, then it would be an inappropriate use of campaign funds which under NY state law is a misdemeanor. Offenders are typically slapped a small fine for the misdemeanor. However, this charge becomes a felony if the law is broken to cover up a second crime. In this case, that “second crime” appears to be the use of funds to advance Trump’s presidential campaign.

To make matters worse for this case, these payments took place about 6 years ago in 2016. In NY, the statute of limitations for felony like this is 5 years.

The Cohen Letter

Two weeks ago, Trump publicly released a 2018 letter from Michael Cohen to the FEC stating there was no pay off from the Trump Campaign or Trump organization to Cohen for anything related to the Stormy Daniels transaction.

What’s the Real Purpose of the Indictment?

The real purpose of this indictment is to try and prevent Trump from running again in 2024. He is the leader in Republican polls and the favorite for the Republican nominee for President.

What does this mean for America?

A successful prevention of Donald Trump running for president on an extremely controversial charge would be detrimental to America moving forward. This would mean that one political party successfully prevented and prosecuted a political opponent (the same way socialist and communist countries do). Moves we see Russia and China do would be happening here in America. This would also mean the political left interfered in another election, further watering down the Amercian vote while putting a tremendous amount of doubt in the system.

Things to look for moving forward.

Over the past weekend the media covered for George Soros’s funding connection to Bragg. The media only tends to do this when it needs to help hide something or prevent something from coming out. There is also a former Department of Justice (DOJ) official (Matthew Colangelo), who recently worked for the Biden DOJ and previously in the Obama White House, now working the Manhattan DA office. This is an oddly timed move for someone extremely connected to this current administration.
